Terms of Service

By creating an account, accessing, or using Onestopcv ("the Service", "the Platform"), operated by Onestopcv ("we", "us", "our"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Service. Your continued use of the Service following any changes to these terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Onestopcv. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Onestopcv provides an online platform for UK job seekers, including but not limited to:

• CV (curriculum vitae) creation and editing tools
• Cover letter builder and templates
• Letterhead and professional document designer
• AI-powered job matching and application assistance
• Job application tracker
• PDF and DOCX document export
• Sector-specific CV templates and guidance

The Service is designed specifically for the UK employment market, including formatting to UK standards (A4, DD/MM/YYYY dates, British English) and compliance with UK equality law guidance on CV content.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We will endeavour to give at least 30 days' notice of material changes.

To access most features of the Service, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities occurring under your account

You may register using your email address and a password, or via Google OAuth. If you register via Google, your account is subject to Google's terms as well as ours.

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms, contain inaccurate information, or have been inactive for more than 24 months on a Free plan, subject to advance notice.

Onestopcv offers the following subscription tiers:

• Free: Limited access — 1 CV, 1 cover letter, 3 templates, PDF with watermark
• Pro: Unlimited CVs and cover letters, 10 templates, sector CVs, DOCX export, app tracker, 20 AI job matches per month
• Premium: Everything in Pro, plus letterhead designer, interview preparation tools, unlimited AI job matches

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis via Stripe. Prices are displayed at checkout in GBP. By providing payment details, you authorise us to charge the applicable fees.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled prior to the renewal date. You will receive a reminder email before renewal.

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of price changes, and your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

We may offer free trial periods for paid plans from time to time. Where a free trial is offered:

• The trial period and its terms will be clearly stated at sign-up
• Payment details may be required to start a trial; you will not be charged until the trial ends
• If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged at the standard rate
• We reserve the right to limit trial eligibility to new accounts only

Only one free trial per person or organisation is permitted. Creating multiple accounts to obtain additional free trials is a violation of these terms.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from Account Settings > Billing, or by contacting support. Upon cancellation:

• Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period
• You will not be charged for subsequent periods
• Your account will revert to the Free tier at the end of the period
• Your documents and data will be retained on your account

All sales are final. If you have a billing query, contact hello@onestopcv.com.

After the 30-day period, subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where we have failed to deliver the Service as described.

Your content: You retain full ownership of all content you create using the Service, including your CV content, cover letters, and any other documents. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

Our platform: Onestopcv and its components — including the software, templates, design, branding, and technology — are owned by Onestopcv and are protected by copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of our platform without our express written permission.

Templates: Our CV and cover letter templates are licensed to you for personal use only. You may use them to create documents for your own job applications. Commercial resale or redistribution of our templates is prohibited.

Licence grant: You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This licence terminates when you delete your content or account.

You are solely responsible for all content you upload, enter, or otherwise submit to the Service. By submitting content, you represent and warrant that:

• The content is accurate and not misleading
• You have the right to submit the content
• The content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
• The content does not violate any applicable law or regulation

We do not routinely review or monitor user-submitted content, but we reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms or applicable law, and to suspend or terminate accounts associated with such violations.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Create fraudulent documents or misrepresent your qualifications to employers
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Violate any applicable UK or international law or regulation
• Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent
• Use the Service in a way that disrupts or damages the Service or other users' experience
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent subscription limits (e.g., creating multiple accounts)

Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account and, where applicable, referral to law enforcement authorities.

Onestopcv includes AI-powered features, including job matching and AI-assisted content suggestions, powered by third-party AI providers including Anthropic (Claude). By using these features, you acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content is provided as a starting point and should be reviewed and edited by you
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated suggestions
• AI outputs may be similar to content generated for other users
• Your content submitted to AI features is processed by our third-party AI provider subject to their data processing terms; however, we ensure contractually that your data is not used to train AI models

You are solely responsible for any documents you create using AI assistance. We are not liable for employment decisions made based on AI-assisted content.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. We specifically disclaim:

• Any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
• Any guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Any warranty regarding employment outcomes — using Onestopcv does not guarantee job interviews or offers
• Any responsibility for decisions made by employers based on documents created with the Service

Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights you may have as a consumer under UK law, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Onestopcv shall not be liable for any:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, business, or goodwill
• Loss of employment opportunity or career outcome
• Costs of procuring substitute services

In any event, our total aggregate liability to you in respect of any claims arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim; or (b) £100.

These limitations apply whether the claim arises in contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or otherwise, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be excluded by law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Onestopcv, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

• Your use of the Service in violation of these terms
• Your user content
• Your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party
• Any fraudulent or misleading documents you create using the Service

These Terms of Service and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Subject to your rights as a consumer, both parties irrevocably agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these terms.

If you are a consumer based in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of those jurisdictions.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
• Send you an email notification to the address on your account
• Display an in-app notice for at least 14 days before changes take effect

Changes will take effect 14 days after notification for existing users. If you do not agree to the new terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
